
- Magic can be learned at altars.
- You need an unoccupied hand for casting spells.
- You can learn a perk which raises the damage protection of your armor.
- You cannot cast spells while wielding a shield.
- Weapons include magic staffs.
- Magicians can slow down time but are themselves subject to the slowdown effect.
- No one knows why the Assassin's guild collaborates with the Orcs.
- Every NPC (non player character) can die, you are able to kill all NPCs.
- You can take a mercenary or a friend from Gothic 2 as henchman and boost his equipment.
- Slaves wear weapons simply because fistfighting hasn't been implemented yet by the developers.
- Apart from the three main factions (Orcs, Royalists, Assassins), three other groups (factions) exist (Nomads, Barbarians, Druids).
- Some guilds like the Gladiators or the Thieves guild won't accept the hero as member.
- There will be around 60-70 perks available.
- A new class of weapons will be introduced: poles or rods (we have seen staffs or sticks before).
- Pressing the mouse-button longer will trigger a blow (stroke, bash, slap) while a fast click will initiate a stab (thrust) thus offering combinations like first bash away the foe's shield and then stab him while unprotected.
- The sword skill can be improved three times and thus unlocking other perks like a spinning attack .
- Bunnies will roam about.
- Tutorials will introduce the player with all major aspects of the game.
- Any computer running smoothly with Oblivion can stomach Gothic 3.
- Videos show fights, magic, breathtaking landscapes with day/night alignments and a whole lot of music score.
- Voice recording is currently underway.
- 85% of the game is completed.
Gothic 3 will be released in the fall of 2006.
